Football: Ex-Scottish international Wark ready for Stowmarket Town date

Then and now: John Wark in his
international hey day and in
more recent times.

Stowmarket Town could have a massive boost to their preparations for the rest of the Ridgeons League season.
Former Scotland international and Liverpool and Ipswich Town legend John Wark has offered his coaching services to the club for some training sessions.
Officials are hopeful he will be able to run a session at Greens Meadow on Tuesday to pass on some of the knowledge he picked up in an 825-game professional career which brought 230 goals and honours including the FA Cup, UEFA Cup and two Football League championships as well as 29 Scotland caps
Locally-based Wark, 53, played in the 1982 World Cup finals and a year earlier appeared in the film Escape To Victory alongside Bobby Moore, Pele, Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone.
He is keen to help his local team whenever his other media and Ipswich Town corporate hospitality commitments allow.
