Football: Old Newton scrape through in nine-goal thriller

Old Newton United had to withstand a spirited second-half comeback to earn a 5-4 victory over Capel Plough in the Senior Division of the SIL.
The hosts led 4-0 late in the first half with goals from Huckins 2, Lockwood and Rickwood. But Capel pulled back to 4-3 before Abbott grabbed the decisive fifth which made the visitors' final strike irrelevant.
