Football: Relegation verdict is all now in Haughley's hands

Haughley United won a seven-goal thriller to move closer to safety in the SIL Senior Division this evening but a single-goal defeat for Old Newton United at bottom-two side Coplestonians means both local sides are still in with a chance of relegation.
Haughley beat Framlingham 4-3 (Aaron Robinson 2, Nathan Smith and Craig Simpson on target) and now know a win on Saturday over Coplestonians will cement their senior status. That would also leave Old Newton needing just a single point from their final three games to ensure their own safety.
In Division One, Stowupland Falcons slumped to an 8-1 defeat at Leiston St Margarets.
