Athletics: Tammy leads Striders to home victory

Stowmarket Striders’ Tammy Jordan was the first woman home and led her team to the Ladies Team prize at Stowmarket Striders Scenic 7 event.

Her qualifying team mates were Rebecca Jordan and Gillian Corrigan.

Remarkably, Tammy, finished in overall 10^th position in the race, more than two minutes clear of the next best woman, in a time of 42 minutes dead.

The race, which started and finished at the town leisure centre in Gainsborough Road on a route via Onehouse and Harleston, was won by Robert Reason, of Harwich Runners, in a time of 38:29.

The best-placed Stowmarket runner after Tammy was Stuart Green, a V50 runner, in 21^st place with 43:34.
