September 11, 2010 – Sloppy defending cost Suffolk & Ipswich League leader Old Newton United dearly as their 100 per cent record ended at Framlingham Town this afternoon.
Old Newton battled back from conceding two early goals but were caught on the break as the previously winless home side struck to take all the points.
Home captain Nathan Vincent opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he was left unmarked at the far post and four minutes later Kane Hughes capitalised on a slip by goalkeeper Gary Hammond to make it 2-0.
Aaron Shave headed in for Old Newton in the last minute of the first half and it was all square when Chris Pallent struck four minutes after the interval.
The visitors dominated the second half but were unable to find another goal and they were caught out when substitute Kieran Nicholls was left unmarked to head in the 70th-minute winner.
