Do not worry if you see an array of fairies, Santas and other fancily-dressed people running through Stowmarket, Onehouse and Harleston on Boxing Day morning.It will not be because you have over-indulged in the previous day’s festivities, it will be simply the Stowmarket Striders’ traditional Boxing Day run.
Runners will be leaving the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre car park in Gainsborough Road at 9.30am and taking a leisurely jog to Harleston Green and back.
Chairman Les Basham said: "The usual fancy dress is encouraged it may even help to keep you warm!"
The club has held their Christmas party, during which the result of the vote for Striders of the Year was announced.
Top of the polls were Frank Moggan and Jo Stephenson.
Recipients of London Marathon places were: Angie Burdett, Denise Wright, Neil Martin and Jon Milburn.
