A 27-17 victory over West Norfolk this afternoon put Stowmarket within touching distance of the Greene King IPA Eastern Counties One title.
The win puts Stow nine points clear of their opponents at the top of the table with only two games, and ten points remaining to play for.
It means Wests have to win both games by a large margin and hope Stow lose both theirs to stop the silverware coming to Suffolk.
As an added bonus for Stow, third-placed Cantabrigian suffered a surprise defeat against Holt.
