Community: Football club connects with police and local groups

Stowmarket Town FC will be doing their bit towards improving community relations next weekend when they host Operation Connect.
The three-day Partnership operation is taking place from March 25-27 and has been organised by the town's police as part of the Stowmarket area Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT).
The joint event includes Stowmarket Sports and Social Club CIC, Stowmarket Town FC, Suffolk FA, Catch 22 Positive Futures, Mid Suffolk District Council and Stowmarket Town Council.
PCSO 3098 David Harvey, of the Stowmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "It is aimed at promoting the SNT, improving neighbourhood links and increasing visibility especially in more rural areas.
"It will provide a top quality confidence building engagement tailored to local need as well as providing professional crime reduction advice/surveys targeted at crime groups."
The event will also promote road safety including the safety of individual vehicles and drivers, with pro-active police enforcement.
It is all part of a drive to cement partnership working within Mid Suffolk.
