Football: Title favourites offer stern test to Stowmarket Town’s hopes

Stowmarket Town face the toughest possible test of their revived promotion hopes tomorrow, 7.45pm.
Town welcome Ridgeons League First Division title favourites Gorleston to Greens Meadow and will need to be at their best if they want to build on Saturday’s fine 3-1 win at Godmanchester.
That ended a run of six straight defeats which had seen Town plummet down the table and they are now sixth, nine points adrift of the promotion places.
By contrast, the Norfolk side have won their last nine matches and are unbeaten in the league since November. They sit one point behind leaders Cambridge University Press, who they play on Saturday, but with four games in hand.
