Football: Stowmarket Town are up for the cup

Stowmarket Town are hoping to give their season a much-needed boost as they aim to reach the Ridgeons League Cup final for the first time in almost half a century this evening
Town have suffered a miserable downturn in fortunes since the turn of the year but can put their poor recent league record behind them when they welcome Wisbech Town to Greens Meadow in the semi-final of the prestigious competition, 7.45pm.
Town's only appearance in the Eastern Counties League Cup final came in 1964/65, when they drew 5-5 over two legs with Haverhill Rovers, only to lose a third-match decider 3-0.
Stowmarket go into the game very much as underdogs against their Premier Division visitors but are hoping to be at virtually full strength. Ben Licence faces a late fitness test on an injured ankle, while Robbie Smythe is cup tied.
Tonight's other semi-final sees Wroxham take on CRC.
