Football: Stowmarket Town's cup dream snuffed out

Ridgeons League Cup, semi-final
Stowmarket Town 2
Wisbech Town 6
For almost an hour Town's dream of reaching their first League Cup final since 1965 was very much alive.
The hosts more than matched Premier Division visitors Wisbech and led twice but a late flurry of goals killed off their hopes in cruel fashion.
Marc Wake put Stowmarket ahead after just 90 seconds, reacting first to Nathan Birch's knock-down from Lee Drummond's corner.
Callum Reed levelled for the Fenmen after 27 minutes with their first meaningful attack but a foul on James Graham allowed Wayne Proctor to put Stow back in front from the penalty spot after 40 minutes.
Wisbech had a goal disallowed before they equalised through Andy Furnell after 57 minutes.
The sides were still level with less than half-an-hour to go until Reed took centre stage. He struck from the spot after 65 minutes to make it 3-2 and added two more in the closing stages to take his tally to four after substitute Darren Jimson had made it 4-2 in the 78th minute.
