Football: Quarter-finals prove too taxing

Hopes of a match at a top football ground have been dashed for a trio of Cedars Park players.
Tom Allnutt, Tommy Lankester and Ben Firman were among five Kingsley Heathcare Suffolk & Ipswich league players representing Eastern Counties HM Revenue and Customs in the last four of the national Civil Service Cup, according to today's
Ipswich Evening Star.
But, despite Lankester setting up captain Jamie Sandilands for a goal, they lost 6-1 to Newcastle Estates and missed out on a semi-final at Lilleshall and final at Rushden & Diamonds. The match was refereed by Premier League official Michael Oliver, who had been in charge of the previous day's Wigan Athletic versus Bolton Wanderers FA Cup tie.
