Rugby: Second points loss blow for Stowmarket RUFC

Stowmarket RUFC have suffered another blow ahead of this afternoon's match at title Greene King IPA Eastern Counties One rivals West Norfolk, but this time their opponents are equally affected.
Bottom-placed Haverhill, who Stow beat 33-12 last week, have resigned from the league, according to this morning's East Anglian Daily Times.
It follows the recent demise of Fakenham and means that Stowmarket, as well as having the 107-0 and 69-0 wins over the Norfolk side expunged from their record, have now also lost 104-6 and the 33-12 wins over Haverhill.
West Norfolk beat Haverhill 61-7 and had the home match awarded, so will also lose two wins, but third-placed Cantabrigian, who Stow play at Chilton Fields next week, had only played them once and will only lose one set of points.
It does mean there is unlikely to be any relegation to Eastern Counties Two this season.
The league table is yet to be adjusted.
